Every Piece is an Original

The fabric I create for my Shibori pieces is celulosic and protein yarns which absorb dyes very well. So it is also important that I choose a fabric "WRAP" technique that is flattering to the base fabric. All the techniques I use are inspired from nature. And even though the fabrics may be high tech and luxurious, the techniquees I use could have been used hundreds if not thousands of years ago by the originators of Shibori.

Before the pieces are scoured and soaked in the pre dye bath solution, I prepare my "WRAP '. dyes. I use procion and natual dyes on my fabrics. Depending on how I fold, tuck, pin, or tie the fabric, the dye will flow, hide, creep, migrate, pop or mellow into the fabric and surrounding colors. I used about two dozen or so unique wrap technics.
